Oskaloosa 8th Grade Indians Win Two Over South Tama

The Oskaloosa Indian 8th grade football team traveled to Tama for their first game of the season. The Indians managed to score 22 points while giving up only 6 in the “A” game. The 1st half was highlighted by defense that was lead by Jack Moore, Matt Hynick, and Drew Sams along with a host of other great performers. As the defense kept the Indians in the game the Offense began to pick up steam just before half when they scored a touchdown with 50 seconds left. The second half was highlighted by the offense that controlled the ball and clock adding two more touchdowns to finish off the Trojans. The offense was led by Jason Beebe, Bennett Spry, Ethan Arnold and an offensive line that played very physical all night.

In the “B” game the Indians once again came away with a decisive victory 28 to 0 in a shortened game. Offensive stars were Josh Diehl, Connor Swim, J’Von Harris, Andy Sterner, Nick Davis, and Shawn Harris along with a host of lineman and receivers. The defense shutout Tama behind outstanding play by Willis Knox, Blake Allsup, and Nathan Lobberecht.

The 8th Grade Football teams next opponent is the Grinnell Tigers on September 18th at Grinnell Middle School. Come out and watch as our team continues to improve throughout the season.
