Oskaloosa–Valinn McReynolds (Grad., Bellville, Texas, Bellville HS) had a solid undergraduate harrier career, but that may all pale in comparison to her start as a student-athlete in the graduate program as she was named Midwest Collegiate Conference Women’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week Monday.

McReynolds is a three-time letterwinner as well as an all-Midwest Collegiate Conference Championships performer in 2005, but her showing last Saturday earned her unprecedented recognition.

The graduate student was 25th out of 147 runners at the Grinnell Les Duke Invitational. She crossed the line in the 6K race in a time of 24:35.
