MAHASKA COUNTY – Mahaska Health Partnership Family Nurse Practitioner Melissa Lamb, ARNP-BC, will be transitioning from New Sharon Medical Center to the MHP campus in Oskaloosa.

Lamb will be joining the practice of Allergy/Pediatric Pulmonology Specialist Ron Graeff, MD, and says she is very excited for the merger. “I previously worked in pulmonology at the Mayo Clinic and am fascinated by the connection between allergies and respiratory function.

“I admire Dr. Graeff’s expertise, and that of his nurses, and look forward to learning from him and expanding my knowledge in a specialty area,” Lamb said.

Lamb has been the primary care provider at MHP’s New Sharon Medical Center for the past six years. “This transition is bitter sweet,” Lamb explained.”I’m looking forward to this new chapter in my career but it’s hard to leave my patients and wonderful staff. I’ve built a lot of strong relationships in the community but I know I’m leaving my patients in great hands.”

Family Nurse Practitioner Jill Konfrst will take over as the primary provider at New Sharon Medical Center on July 16, 2012. “Jill has a lot of experience and local connections so I think she’ll be a great fit in New Sharon,” Lamb said.

MHP’s New Sharon Medical Center is a full-service practice where patients can be treated from birth to end-of-life. It is staffed by a fulltime Family Nurse Practitioner, a registered nurse and an office manager. Patients can be seen for all of their primary care needs including annual physicals and well-child exams to illness and injury diagnosis.

The New Sharon Medical Center is located at 112 South Main Street. It is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm and Wednesdays from 7:30 am to Noon.

An open house is planned at New Sharon Medical Center on Wednesday, July 11 from 3:30 to 5:30 pm to celebrate Melissa’s service and welcome Jill to the clinic.
