Central track and field squads ranked ninth, 24th

PELLA—The Central College men’s and women’s track and field squads are ranked ninth and 24th respectively in the eighth week of power rankings produced by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

McMurray (Texas) still holds the top spot in the men’s rankings while Iowa Conference foe Wartburg retained the No. 1 ranking for the women.

Teams are scored using a points system that objectively measures the top performances across the country in each event.

The Dutch men won their fourth consecutive Iowa Conference outdoor championship last weekend while the women took runner-up honors for the fourth time in seven years. Both squads will compete at the Wis.-La Crosse Last Chance meet Thursday before the NCAA Division III national championships May 24-26 in Claremont, Calif.
