Glenn passed away early Saturday morning at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines as a result of complications after open heart surgery. He was 48 years, 5 months and 3 days of age.

Glenn R. Walker, son of Stephen and Janet Short Walker, was born November 25, 1963, in Oskaloosa, Iowa. He attended school in Rose Hill for a few years before transferring to school in Oskaloosa. When Glenn was 18 years old he moved to the Christian Opportunity Center in Pella. He worked in the sheltered workshop doing piece work. Glen always looked forward to his visits to his family in Oskaloosa. He particularly enjoyed Sunday television, watching religious programs for their message and the music. He also loved watching the clouds and predicting the weather.

Glenn’s family includes his parent, Stephen and Janet Walker of Oskaloosa; his brothers and sisters-in-law: Dennis and Deana Walker of Rose Hill, Rex and Jannett Walker of University Park, and Eric and Lisa Walker of Fort Carson, Colorado; several nieces and nephews; and great nieces and great nephews.

Memorials may be made in his name or to the Christian Opportunity Center.
