GRINNELL’S SARAH BURNELL IS MIDWEST CONFERENCE PERFORMER OF THE WEEK

GRINNELL, Iowa – After earning Midwest Conference Women’s Track Performer of the Week accolades during the indoor season, Grinnell College’s Sarah Burnell ’14 has repeated that honor in the outdoor campaign.

Burnell, from Grinnell, Iowa (Grinnell), won the 1500-meter run at Saturday’s Dick Young Classic with a time of 4:44.82, which is tops in the Midwest Conference this season. She also was part of the first-place 4×400 relay team that ran a school record and MWC-best 4:02.50. The previous school mark was 4:03.82, set last season.

The MWC Field Performer of the Week was Jenna Breaker of Ripon College. The Men’s Performers of the Week were Justin Johnson of St. Norbert College (Track) Randy Hill of St. Norbert (Field).
