Oskaloosa–The Lady Statesmen softball team enters postseason play with its highest ranking of the year as the sixth NAIA poll was released today.

William Penn (40-15, 21-3 MCC) improved two more spots to #29 (49 points). The squad remains the only representative from the Midwest Collegiate Conference in the poll and is the top team in the state of Iowa. Northwestern is tied for 44th (three points).

The top five is unchanged with Concordia (Calif.) at the top with 591 points and 20 first-place votes. Cal State-San Marcos, Oklahoma City, Central Baptist (Ark.), with the final vote, and Lubbock Christian (Texas) round out the top five.

William Penn will meet #6 seed St. Ambrose and #9 seed Clarke in its MCC First Round Pod Tournament.
