The Mahaska County YMCA Invites Kids and Parents to Attend Healthy Kids Day®, April 14
[Oskaloosa, April 5, 2012] – On Saturday, April 14, the Mahaska County YMCA is celebrating Healthy Kids Day® with a free community event that will help families find fun through active play and educational opportunities to improve health and overall well-being. As part of the Y’s commitment to strengthening community by addressing critical gaps in health and education, Healthy Kids Day will encourage kids and parents to commit to keeping the body and mind active now and throughout the summer.
At Healthy Kids Day, the nation’s largest health day for kids, families will enjoy booths from local businesses, free prize giveaways, an Easter egg hunt, a bounce house for the kids, open swim, and friendly games throughout the event. The top prize given to one lucky attendee on the day of the celebration includes an autographed football from Super Bowl champion Tyler Sash. “The YMCA was full of families last year, enjoying many fun activities and learning healthy habits from Mahaska Healthy Partnership and various other venders. We hope to see a new record attendance again this year,” said Ryan Harkema, Sports, Fitness & Aquatics Director.
Healthy Kids Day takes place from 9:00am to 12:00pm at the Mahaska County YMCA. For more information, call 641-673-8411 or visit www.mahaskaymca.org.
