Ottumwa Man Charged With Sex Crimes

On Thursday March 29, 2012 the Oskaloosa Police Department filed charges on 49 year old Rodney Minter of Ottumwa for 2 counts of 2nd degree [Sex Abuse] and one count of incest. These charges stem from an investigation into allegations that Mr. Minter had performed and received sexual acts from children under the age of twelve. These sexual acts occurred between the years of 1997 through 2006.

Sexual abuse in the 2nd degree is a class “B” felony punishable by up to twenty five years in a state penitentiary and or a $25,000 dollar fine.

Incest is a class “D” felony and is punishable by up to five years in a state penitentiary and or a $5,000 dollar fine.

Mr. Minter is currently incarcerated in the Mahaska County Jail with a $25,000 dollar bond.

A criminal charge is merely a criminal charge and not an indication of guilt. All suspects should be considered innocent until proven guilty.
