Central’s Wood, Larson land league track honors

PELLA—Central College’s Kyle Wood (senior, Newton) and Eric Larson (freshman, Waverly, Waverly-Shell Rock HS) are the Iowa Conference men’s indoor track and field athletes of the week.
Wood, recognized in track events, took first in the 200-meter run at the Wartburg Select Meet Friday, finishing in a personal-best time of 22.49 seconds. He also led off the winning 4×200 relay (1:30.03) and was part of the fourth-place 4×400 relay (3:23.9).
Larson is tabbed as the field events athlete of the week. He captured the heptathlon with 4,381 points. The score ranks 10th in Division III and is the top mark in the league.
The Dutch compete in the Darren Young Classic Saturday at Grinnell.
