Y Introduces Evening Lap Swim Changes 2012

Oskaloosa, January 28, 2012 – The Mahaska County YMCA is proud to announce some exciting new aquatics improvements for the 2012 year. With programs at the Y continuing to expand and grow, including the YMCA Dolphins Swim Team with a record 75 participants this year, the Y has recently added a new lap swim time for swimmers on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7:15-8:15pm. These new swim times replace the previous times, from 5:00-6:00pm on Tuesday and Thursday nights. This adjustment will allow for better utilization of pool hours. Evening lap swimmers can also dive in at the Y Monday, Wednesday, and Friday evenings for lap swim from 5:00-6:00pm. Other lap swim times also available at the Y include Monday-Friday from 5:30-7:00am, Monday-Friday from 12:00-1:00pm, and Saturday mornings from 8:00-9:00am.
With nearly 75 lap swimmers per week at the Mahaska County YMCA, a consistent lap swimmer, Y member Molly McCaulley, had this to say about the changes, ”These new lap swim hours provide another excellent opportunity for those with busy daytime schedules to fit in a quick swim in the evening as part of their fitness routines.” For those who have an interest in learning to swim or simply want to develop their skills, the Mahaska County YMCA also offers group, semi-private, and private swim lessons to the community. Don’t miss out on all the fun and fitness in the water, take a swim lesson and discover a new way to stay healthy and happy.
