Sheriff Paul R. DeGeest warns about recent fraudulent fundraising in Iowa

Mahaska County Sheriff's Office

Oskaloosa, Iowa – “As a member of the Iowa State Sheriffs’ and Deputies’ Association (ISSDA), it has come to my attention the Ben Jamison is conducting fraudulent fundraising activities in Iowa. Jamison……..is using letters given to him from Iowa Sheriffs several years ago in an attempt to solicit advertising from area businesses for another law enforcement trade magazine.

Please be advised that neither the Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office nor the Iowa State Sheriffs’ and Deputies’ Association has authorized Ben Jamison to solicit ads on our behalf. Any Mahaska County business receiving a solicitation from Ben Jamison on behalf of the ISSDA or The Gold Star magazine should contact the Mah. Co. Sheriffs Office at 641.673.4322.”
