GRINNELL’S HUEY NAMED MWC WOMEN’S BASKETBALL PERFORMER OF THE WEEK

GRINNELL, Iowa – Grinnell College’s Megan Huey ‘12 has been named the Midwest Conference Women’s Basketball Performer of the Week.

Huey, a 5-11 forward from Wichita, Kan. (West Des Moines Valley), had a huge weekend performance as she recorded double-doubles in Grinnell victories over Beloit College and Lawrence University.

She had game-highs of 22 points and 15 rebounds in a 67-39 win over Beloit on Friday, and followed that up with 12 points and 11 boards in a 62-49 victory over Lawrence on Saturday. With the wins, Grinnell improved to 7-3 in the MWC. That marks the team’s best start in league play since the 2003-04 season.

The Men’s Performer of the Week is Travis Clark of Lake Forest College.
