Visitation: will begin at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday morning, January 24, 2012 at Garland-Van Arkel-Langkamp Funeral Chapel. The family will be present from 5 – 7 p.m. to greet visitors.
Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m., Wednesday morning, January 25, 2012 at Garland-Van Arkel-Langkamp Funeral Chapel with Pastor Alvern Boetsma of the Good News Chapel officiating.
Interment: Coal Creek Cemetery in SW Mahaska County.
Louise passed away Sunday morning at Crystal Heights Care Center in Oskaloosa at the age of 94 years and one month and ten days.
Frye, was born, December 12, 1917, near Bussey in Jefferson Township, Mahaska County, Iowa. Louise’s mother died when Louise was two weeks old and she was raised by her great aunt Belle Fryer. She was a 1936 graduate of Bussey High School. Following her education Louise worked for neighborhood families with their housekeeping and laundry. Louise married Lewis Chilcote in 1942. While Lewis was stationed in Corpus Christi, Texas with the Navy; Louise worked in the engraving office on the naval base. After Lewis completed his military duties, they returned to Oskaloosa to raise their two children. Louise and Lewis later divorced. Louise worked for many families in Oskaloosa doing housekeeping and laundry and also Wigg’s Country Store Laundromat. In 1970, Louise married Harold Eveland. He died in April 1986. Louise was a member of Coal Creek Church and an officer of the Pythian Sisters. She enjoyed traveling, reading, crossword puzzles and her many cats.
Louise’s family includes her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Stephen Heilman of Broken Arrow, OK and son and daughter-in-law, Lysle and Margaret Chilcote of Oskaloosa; three grandchildren: Jason Heilman of Broken Arrow, OK; Angela (Doug) Rexroth of Kirkville, IA and Robyn (Jeff) Hoppman of Washington, IA; seven great grandchildren; and a brother, Phillip Frye of Bussey, Iowa.
In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Mariann Asher.
