Harrison, Woods Picked for BSN All-America Teams
Oskaloosa–Following standout campaigns this fall, Damon Harrison (Sr., Lake Charles, La., Lake Charles Boston HS) and Mason Woods (Jr., Williamsburg, Williamsburg HS) have been named NAIA All-Americans by Beyond Sports College Network.
The defensive tackle and offensive center both collected Third-Team recognition from BSN, which promotes small college athletics (NCAA FCS, Division II, III, and NAIA). BSN honored four teams (including honorable mentions) on offense, defense, and special teams.
The awards are the first for both players in their careers and the 32nd and 33rd All-America laurels for the William Penn football program.
Each was named to the MSFA Midwest League’s first team after leading the Statesmen to a 9-2 record (5-2 MWL) and a #16 ranking at season’s end.
Harrison guided his team with 60 tackles (25 solos, 35 assists), including a team-best 8.5 for loss. He also had three sacks and two forced fumbles.
Woods headlined an offensive line that helped produce the NAIA’s most potent rushing offense with 3,634 yards (330.4 avg.). William Penn posted a total of 4,510 yards (410.0 avg) and scored 377 points, including 42 touchdowns on the ground.
Quarterback Jimmy Coy of Saint Xavier (Ill.) was named BSN Offensive Player of the Year, while Morningside defensive back Colby Henderson was the Defensive POY award winner.
