Presidential Hopeful Michele Bachamann Engages Oskaloosa Crowd
Oskaloosa, Iowa – In just one of her many near whistle stops along the fast paced 99 county tour, Michele Bachmann made her way in from the dropping Iowa temps into a warm crowd of supporters at the Pizza Ranch in Oskaloosa Thursday. Bachmann had just leave a similar stop at the Pizza Ranch in Sigourney.
There, with signs handed out by staffers before her arrival, the nearly packed restaurant extended hands to greet the presidential hopeful as she made her way down the rows of booths.
With permanent marker in hand, she took the time to autograph nearly every sign, sticker, or any other piece of memorabilia her supporters could put before her.
The staff and supporters spoke to the crowd talking up the Congresswoman’s platform.
I asked Bachmann while she was signing autographs how the tour was going. “It’s been fantastic. We’re going to hit, I think, 70 counties by the end of today. We started last Friday. We are bookin’. There’s no grass growing under our feet. But it’s been wonderful, since the debate in Sioux City last week, it’s like an electric light switch went off. People are really excited.”
I commented to the Congresswoman about the size of the crowd that was on hand to greet her. “We’re seeing it everywhere we go. Same thing everywhere we go,” Bachmann said about the large crowd on hand. “People are now making their final decision.”
Even with the near impossible schedule, a tired voice, and the road weary looks on her staffs faces from the countless hours, Bachmann says her campaign is “Really energized”.
Bachmann was heading to Albia, Iowa for her next stop of the evening, and what looks to be a real groundswell of support.
