Through the Lens Photography Club
Oskaloosa, Iowa – Oskaloosa’s Gateway Church of the Nazarene is pleased to introduce a new opportunity for people in the Oskaloosa and surrounding areas – Through the Lens Photography Club. This past year, club developer Deb DeJong has been participating in the 365 Project, an on-line, worldwide photography project, and throughout the project has discovered the benefits of learning from other photographers. As a result of this beneficial project, DeJong proposed a new ministry opportunity to the church’s administrative board, and Through the Lens Photography Club was born. The club was created to unite people who share a passion for the art of photography. Its members will come together for the purpose of fun, fellowship, learning, and sharing. “Growth is never by mere chance; it is the result of forces working together.” (James Cash Penny)
Through the Lens Photography Club will launch on January 10, 2012 at Gateway Church of the Nazarene. Meetings will be held on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month from 7:00 – 9:00 PM and are open to anyone age 16 and older (for younger participants, please contact Deb DeJong). The first meeting of each month will feature an instructive lesson on an aspect of photography, and the second meeting of each month will be devoted to viewing the assigned photography works of each participant. At this meeting, suggestions for improvement and/or compliments will be offered to members in order to encourage and enlighten them through their photography journey. Special meeting opportunities such as fellowship gatherings and photo shoots will be offered occasionally throughout the year.
