Cub Scouts honor local veterans

These local Boy Scouts placed flags in the Grand Army of the Republic portion of Forest Cemetery Saturday morning

Oskaloosa, Iowa-  One group of local scouts got their taste of veterans day this past week. A group Cub Scouts from Oskaloosa pac 77 met at Forest Cemetery Saturday morning to do several different things to honor the veterans. The scouts first took a look at the Veterans memorial in the cemetery.

They also looked at the mural on it and discussed it. Finally, they went up to the GAR (Grand Army of the Republic) Cemetery to place flags around it. The scouts placed flags in rows along the outside of the cemetery. They also headed over to the monument of a local civil war brigadier general and placed flags at his memorial.
