Question of the Week: Are you excited for the start of School?

Oskaloosa, Iowa- Last week, we asked you if you had fears for your financial future as a result of the credit downgrade. 25 Residents responded with 14 residents (56%) saying Yes, 9 Residents (36%) saying No, and 2 Residents (8%) saying Unsure. The Question of the Week poll is unscientific and does not reflect the views of Osky News. I would like to also inform readers that we have moved the Question of the Week Poll to the bottom right hand column below the High School Sports Section.

This week, we turn to a local event. Next week, many local public schools will officially begin classes for the next school year. For some parents, it may be a tearful day as their child starts school for the first time. For other parents, it may be a day to rejoice after a long summer. For High School Students, it could be a big day with Senior Traditions and the usual reunion with friends students may not have seen all summer. This year will also bring the beginning of the new 1:1 Laptop Program at the high school.

Those who say they are excited for school say that they are ready to get back to their school routines and see friends they haven’t been with in a while. Some others also say that they are ready to get back to doing something rather than sitting around looking for something to do. Those who are not excited say that the summer has gone by too fast and that they still have things to do.
