10 Candidates submit applications for District Court Judge in 8A Judicial District

Ottumwa, Iowa- Judge Michael Mullins was appointed to the Court of Appeals June 9, 2011.  The 8^th Judicial District was given permission to fill the vacancy.  Applications for the 8A judicial vacancy were closed at 4:30 PM on Monday, July 18, 2011.

Interviews will be conducted on July 21 and 22, 2011 at the District Court Administrator’s Office, 211 East Fourth Street, Ottumwa, Iowa.  The interviews will be open for public observation and listening.  Applicant submissions and materials will be open to the public.

The Commission will submit the names of two nominees to Governor Branstad who will then appoint one within 30 days.
