Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin shook hands and talked with lines of people standing in front of the Pella Opera House Tuesday afternoon at the premier of “The Undefeated”.

Those in attendance of the premier were invited guests of the film maker, with an invitation only supper held behind the opera house.

Palin worked her way through the crowd, greeting nearly everyone that wanted to shake her hand or have her autograph one of her books. When asked what she thought of Pella, she remarked that she loved it. “Pella is beautiful,” she said and went on to comment about the hospitality of the community. It had been reported she sampled some of the local bakeries and enjoyed some of the other sights of Pella before the premier in the afternoon.

The feature length film, The Undefeated, reviews Palin’s earliest days until her time as Governor of Alaska. The story covers her early days when she owned half interest in a fishing boat, to her time as Mayor of Wasilla, and finally to her time as Governor of Alaska and taking the national stage as a vice-presidential candidate.

Some media report numbers of supporters as 100, but the numbers I saw were much stronger than that. They were in the several hundred with every major network covering the premier. The media took her visit seriously as well. Satellite trucks and canopy areas were set up with lights and stationary cameras.

When asked if she intends to run for President, Palin is still playing coy with the idea, at least publicly, with her plans for a presidential run. This is contrary to what her daughter Bristol said on Fox News’ Fox & Friends saying that her mother had made up her mind.

One thing about Sarah Palin is certain, she is polarizing. There seems to be no middle ground when you talk to people about her. After covering several presidential candidates as of recent, it’s obvious she can still draw a crowd that puts many of the candidates’ visits to shame.
