WPU Dropped to Receiving Votes Section

Oskaloosa–For the first time in over a year, the Statesmen football team is not ranked as the NAIA released its sixth top-25 poll Monday, sponsored by STADIONIC.

WPU (5-2, 2-1 Heart North) is now unofficially 34th in the poll. It ends a run of 13 straight ratings in which the navy and gold were featured in the top 25.

Five Heart of America Athletic Conference programs are still in the full ranking. Benedictine leads the group at No. 2, while Grand View is No. 3 and Baker is No. 21. MidAmerica Nazarene is also in the receiving votes section.

College of Idaho continues to be No. 1 in the country, now holding all 13 first-place votes. St. Thomas (Fla.) is fourth and Montana Tech is fifth to complete the top five.

WPU returns to Oskaloosa Saturday, hosting Clarke for Homecoming in a Heart North division game at 12 p.m.
