George Daily Auditorium Announces Five-Show Season With Free Student Tickets
The George Daily Auditorium’s 2026–27 program will include Shakespeare, live music, stand-up comedy, dance theatre, and an Elvis Presley tribute.
Five performances taking place from October through May are now offering tickets for sale. Each show costs $25 for adults, and students may get free tickets by using the code GDYT25 when they order.
A season ticket, which includes all five shows, costs $113 and thus saves $12 when compared to purchasing five separate adult tickets. All the performances start at 7 p.m.
The season begins on Monday, 12th October 2026, with Othello by Shakespeare, given by The Lord Chamberlain’s Men.
After its first appearance in North America in Oskaloosa with a production of Twelfth Night in October 2025, the company will stage Othello, combining Shakespeare’s storytelling with music and dance from the Elizabethan period.
The tragedy follows Othello, a highly respected military general, and Iago, a soldier who becomes resentful when another man is promoted. Iago’s attempt to retaliate leads to a series of deceptions and acts of destruction.
The Iowa Arts Council supports the performance.
Music will take the stage on Thursday, November 19, 2026, with a performance by the Nashville duo Goldpine.
The Wilsons, Ben and Kassie, form a husband-and-wife Americana act. Their songs explore life, love, and purpose, and vocal harmonies are a key element of their music.
They have toured together since 2016 and won the Rocky Mountain Songwriter Contest in 2022; they have also performed at the Kerrville Folk Festival in Texas and at Mountain Stage with Kathy Mattea in West Virginia.
The Good Humor Men will perform during the first professional season show on Friday, Feb. 19.
Josh Sneed and Tony Deyo will be performing together during an evening of stand-up comedy.
Sneed has worked on Comedy Central, Dry Bar Comedy, and has been on The Bob & Tom Show. Deyo, who was a professional musician with the symphony, has also appeared on Conan and The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson.
Musco Lighting is sponsoring the performance.
On Tuesday 13th April 2027, Inlet Dance Theatre will perform What Do You Do With a Problem?
The production is a dance theatre adaptation of Kobi Yamada’s best-selling book and tells the story of a child dealing with a problem that grows the longer it is ignored; when the child eventually confronts it, new possibilities arise.
The production is described as a story for audiences of all ages, and it conveys its message about meeting challenges and finding opportunities in them through dance and physical storytelling.
The Oskaloosa Optimist Club and Clow Valve are sponsoring the show.
The season will end on Saturday, May 1, 2027, with Elvis: Reflections of the King, featuring Joseph Hall.
Hall’s performance is a tribute to Elvis Presley’s music and his legacy; he started off as an Elvis tribute artist in 2006 and achieved a top 10 finish on NBC’s America’s Got Talent in 2008.
He has since given performances in the United States and abroad, including in Las Vegas and Porthcawl, Wales.
