WARRIORS CAP TEXAS TRIP WITH RANKED SWEEP

Weatherford, TX – The No. 7 nationally ranked Indian Hills Volleyball squad wrapped up its trip to Texas with a 3-0 sweep of No. 18 ranked Dodge City Community College (KS) on Saturday. The Warriors finished the Weatherford Invitational 1-3 overall.

The Warriors cruised to a straight-set victory over the Conquistadors, winning 25-21, 25-17, 25-23. As a team, the Warriors produced a .333 hitting percentage, making just eight attack errors in 66 attempts.

Sophomore Milica Peci (Namur, Belgium/Saint Jean Baptiste) led the way with nine kills in 11 attempts and zero errors. Farah Sherif (Alexandria, Egypt/EGC) and Joanna Pawlik (Lublin, Poland/Nauczycieli Tajnego Nauczania) added seven kills a piece for the Warriors.

Ana Luiza Caminha Matos (Betim, Brazil/Augusto de Lima) paced the offense with 27 assists to go along with a pair of blocks at the night. Peci added four total blocks in the win, including three solo stops to anchor the defense.

Sophomore Asialin Powell (Des Moines, IA/Roosevelt) capped a solid weekend performance on the defensive front for the Warriors. The libero tallied a total of 65 digs across the four matches.

Next up for the Warriors is the home opener at the Hellyer Center against Des Moines Area Community College Monday night. First serve is set for 6:00 PM.
