Musco Unveils Major Expansion, Deepening Commitment to Oskaloosa and Its Team
OSKALOOSA, Iowa — July 3, 2025 — Musco Lighting hosted an open house and ribbon cutting this week, marking the completion of a major expansion and renovation at its Downtown Oskaloosa Campus. The 74,000 square-foot project, now the company’s largest facilities investment to date, is expected to fully open in early August.
The ribbon cutting ceremony brought together Musco employees, construction partners, retirees, and local leaders to celebrate what Musco CEO Jeff Rogers called a commitment “to a healthy environment for our team and [supporting] future opportunities.”
“We’ve been fortunate to call Oskaloosa home for nearly 50 years,” Rogers said. He thanked founders and principal owners Joe Crookham and Myron Gordin for their vision and leadership that made the project possible. In remarks during the celebration, Crookham reflected on the company’s early days working out of a 4,000 square-foot government building — a striking contrast to today’s modern expansion.
The two-year project was delivered ahead of schedule and under budget, according to Musco leaders. Rogers credited SVPA Architects and Neumann Construction for helping bring the vision to life. He also praised the City of Oskaloosa’s staff, City Council, and Mayor Dave Krutzfeldt for their support.
Inside, the expansion features a new workspace for Musco’s 1,800 global team members, more conference rooms and collaboration areas, a greenhouse, a coffee bar, and a state-of-the-art five-foot LED globe showcasing Musco’s impact in more than 135 countries. A “hometown field experience” installation highlights the company’s legacy in sports lighting, including a demonstration of Musco’s lighting solutions and retired Wrigley Field seats.
Musco’s team members who helped see the project through were also recognized. Rogers named several staff members for their leadership, including Jeff Greenhall, Eric Stout, Bob Dross, and others who kept the project moving despite construction disruptions.
“Special thanks needs to go to the facility team, the marketing department, IT, rapid development, Iowa Sports Turf, entertainment, and communications,” Rogers said, according to event remarks. “Congratulations to everybody.”
The new building also connects to Musco’s other downtown buildings via a new skywalk spanning 2nd Avenue West. The campus now links to a 424-space parking garage that will open this month.
The celebration also honored past team members whose early work helped build the foundation for Musco’s continued growth. “It’s because of the tremendous effort previous generations put into making this company successful,” Rogers told attendees.
The company has additional local investments on the horizon, including a new 30,000 square-foot product development and testing facility set to break ground this fall at 601 1st Avenue West.
Founded in Oskaloosa in 1976, Musco has grown to become a global leader in sports and facility lighting, with major projects ranging from neighborhood fields to Olympic stadiums, airports, ports, and iconic landmarks. The company employs more than 1,800 people worldwide.
