Statesmen Cheer Places Fourth at Season-Opening MBU Showcase

St. Louis, Mo.–The William Penn cheerleading squad kicked off its 2025 season with a strong showing, securing a top-half finish at the Missouri Baptist Spartan Showcase on Saturday.

The Statesmen placed fourth out of nine teams with 82.1 points. Missouri Valley took the crown with 91.32 points.

“Our team truly showed out today,” Head Coach Abby Reynolds said. “The squad had to make adjustments to its routine, and for all the hard work they put in this week, our athletes did amazing. Our sharpness, our skills, and our energy radiated on the mat. It was a very strong showing for our first competition, and everyone should stay tuned—we have more coming.”
