Statesmen Find Season-Opener Success at Missouri Baptist Spartan Showcase

St. Louis, Mo.–The William Penn dance team opened its 2025 season with a solid performance, securing a fourth-place finish at the Missouri Baptist Spartan Showcase on Saturday.

The Statesmen tallied 77.93 points, placing fourth in a competitive 12-team field. Host Missouri Baptist took the title with 81.07 points.

“Our team truly showed out today,” Head Coach Abby Reynolds said. “The squad had to rework its whole routine this week. For all the hard work they put in this week, our ladies did amazing. Our sharpness, our skills, and our energy radiated on the floor. It was a very strong showing for our first competition and everyone should stay tuned. We have more coming.”

Next Up: William Penn heads to Seward, Neb., next Saturday to compete in the Concordia Day of Duals.
