Statesmen of the Week: Showalter Johnson

Oskaloosa–Men’s track and field athlete Showalter Johnson (Sr., Nassau, Bahamas, New Media) has been named Statesmen of the Week for December 9-15, a laurel presented by Gardner-Collier Jewelry.

With no women’s sports competing last week, a female Statesmen of the Week honor was not awarded.

Johnson delivered a stellar performance at the Nebraska Invitational on Friday, dominating the 60-meter dash with a blazing time of 6.80 seconds. His first-place finish not only secured a win, but also qualified him for the NAIA National Championship as he met the provisional standard.
