Central still strong in cross country regional poll

PELLA-With almost no teams in action in the Midwest Region, there was no movement in the Week 5 edition U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association’s Division III regional rankings released Tuesday.

Central’s men’s and women’s both remained in the top 10 amongst teams in the Midwest Region. Central’s women remained at No. 4 and the men stayed at No. 8.

In the women’s poll, the University of Chicago (Ill.) leads the way with Washington University – St. Louis (Mo.) at No. 2 and Wartburg College at No. 3.

Wartburg is first in the men’s poll with North Central College (Ill.) at No. 2 and Washington – St. Louis at No. 3.

The top-four programs on the men’s and women’s side will all be competing Saturday at the Augustana Inter-Regional meet hosted in Rock island, Illinois.
