Ella Ray, Lanie Batterson, and Chloe Lyon each made key contributions at the net, combining for 9 kills and 5 blocks. Kinley Lobberecht added 5 digs and 2 aces to round out the Rockets’ balanced attack.

Head Coach Gladys Genskow was pleased with the team’s performance, noting that the wins were a solid start to the season. “The girls played a consistent match against both teams tonight,” Genskow said. “We have areas we will continue to improve upon each time out, which will be an ongoing focus throughout the season. The players are excited to get the season going because of the potential this team has this year.”

As the team adjusts to new players in different positions, Genskow emphasized the importance of maintaining attention to detail. “The targets on our backs raise the level of expectation for each player, and they are ready to take on the challenge,” she added. “I’m proud of their efforts, and we will continue to improve on those finer details as we gain more experience with all players.”

Looking ahead, EBF will travel to the West Branch tournament on Saturday, where they will face tough competition. Coach Genskow is confident that the team will continue to build on their strengths as they navigate the early part of the season.

With two wins under their belt, the Rockets are off to a promising start and look forward to what could be a strong season.
