William Penn Starts Year Receiving Votes
Oskaloosa–The Statesmen women’s golf team is heading into the fall season as a program on the national radar as the NAIA released its preseason poll Thursday.
WPU begins autumn unofficially 32nd in the country with 33 points. The navy and gold are one of two squads from the Heart of America Athletic Conference in the poll with Mount Mercy right behind them in 33rd.
Defending national champion Keiser (Fla.) is #1 with 450 points and all 15 first-place votes. British Columbia is second, while Oklahoma City, SCAD Savannah (Ga.), and Texas Wesleyan round out the top five.
The Statesmen open their season on September 9-10 by hosting the Statesmen Invitational in Oskaloosa at Edmundson Golf Course.
