Serious Collision on Highway 163 Near Pella, Iowa

A significant traffic accident occurred on Highway 163, east of Pella, Iowa, involving a semi-truck and a field sprayer. The semi, driven by Robert K. Weed, 49, from Philadelphia, PA, collided with the rear of a field sprayer operated by Lee E. Deprenger, 65, from Otley, IA. Both individuals sustained injuries and were transported to local hospitals, with Weed’s injuries classified as life-threatening. Iowa State Patrol Trooper J. Neely from Post 13 conducted the investigation.
