NM to Host Class 2A opener
DES MOINES – North Mahaska host a Class 2A regional quarter final basketball game when the girls open tournament play next week. North Mahaska, currently ranked 13th in Class 2A will host either Pella Christian or Cardinal, who opens play Saturday Feb. 10. NM will play at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 13.
In the other half of North Mahaska’s bracket, Columbus will host West Burlington with the winner facing the North Mahaska winner in the regional semifinal set for New Sharon on Feb. 16.
The top half of the bracket has Pleasantville hosting Van Buren County in. an opener with the winner going to No. 5 Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont on Feb. 13. The other two teams in the top half are Wilton and Louisa-Muscatine. The winner of the EBF regional semifinal and the NM semifinal will meet on Wednesday, Feb. 21 at a site to be determined with the winner punching their ticket to state.
