NM Splits at Lisbon

LISBON – North Mahaska took to the mats Monday taking on Lisbon and Northeast Community. Host Lisbon won 44-33 while North Mahaska upended Northeast 41-30.

Six NM wrestlers won two matches on the night, two won both by pin. Chris Long pinned Lisbon’s Ryan Nevins at 157 pounds in 47 seconds. He pinned Northeastern’s Caden Melchiori in 3:08 at 165 pounds.

Chance Angle picked up a pin at 190 over Lisbon’s Hudson Herboldsheimer in 2:18 and Northeastern’s Sawyer Schmidt in 5:29.

Ryan Groom pinned Lisbon’s Ben Kelley in 1:47 and took a forfeit in his second match. Cole Wernli at 138 also won by pin and forfeit. He pinned Ryder Meeks of Lisbon in 2:09. Hunter Wernli won a 6-0 decision over Teague Krob of Lisbon and pinned Northeastern’s Keegan McLane in 4:43.

At 157, Angello Wittenberg pinned Justin Snyder of Lisbon in 34 seconds then scored a technical fall over Northeastern’s Carsyn Edwards, 24-6.

In the Lisbon match, Max Reed at 215 won an extra match. Dawson DeBoef at 150 pinned Northeastern’s Corbin Knutsen in 3:11.
