Statesmen of the Week: Brandon Williams and Olivia Lange
Men’s cross country runner Brandon Williams (Jr., Fountain, Colo., Civil Engineering) and women’s golfer Olivia Lange (Jr., Buckeburg, Germany, Business Management) have been named the Statesmen of the Week for the week of September 18-24, presented by Gardner-Collier Jewelry.
Williams won his second-consecutive individual title last Saturday at the Grand View Invitational. The senior topped the 69-person field on the 8K course with a time of 26:41.4. The junior’s efforts helped the Statesmen to their second team crown in as many weeks.
Lange set a new 54-hole school record as she placed 10th out of 62 players at the Northwest Iowa National Invitational last Monday and Tuesday. Her score of 219 included rounds of 74, 71, and 74. The junior’s performance, which featured 10 birdies and one eagle, breaks the previous three-round mark from 2019.
