Oskaloosa Varsity Indians Can’t Catch Up To Knoxville Varsity Panthers

Oskaloosa Varsity Indians watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 5-2 loss to Knoxville Varsity Panthers on Wednesday. Knoxville Varsity Panthers scored on a single by Ashlyn Finarty and a double by Ciara Heffron in the first inning.
Knoxville Varsity Panthers got things started in the first inning. Knoxville Varsity Panthers scored one run when Finarty singled.
Finarty earned the victory on the rubber for Knoxville Varsity Panthers. The ace went four and a third innings, allowing one run on zero hits, striking out five and walking one. Heffron threw two and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Karly Grubb took the loss for Oskaloosa Varsity Indians. The righty lasted one inning, allowing two hits and two runs while walking zero.
Maleah Walker, Haylee Parker, and Lucy Roach all had one hit to lead Oskaloosa Varsity Indians.
Heffron led Knoxville Varsity Panthers with four hits in four at bats.
