William F. Jamison, 83, of Oskaloosa died Friday, December 16, 2022, at the MHP Hospice Serenity House in Oskaloosa. He was born January 30, 1939, in Oskaloosa, Iowa, the son of Frances Launa Jamison.

Bill graduated from Oskaloosa High School with the class of 1958.

Following graduation, Bill served in the United States Marine Corps. Upon his discharge from the Marines, he attended the University of Colorado.

Bill worked various places throughout his life. He was a talented photographer and owned and operated a photography business for many years. He also worked at the University of Colorado in the Physics Department for a few years. Bill had a thirst for knowledge, he spent hours researching and studying. He was especially interested in Science and Astronomy. He had a wealth of knowledge and was quick to answer questions with surety in his voice. He spent many years volunteering for the Boy Scouts of America and helped many scouts earn their Eagle Scout.

His family includes his sister, Joanne (& John) Perz of Lakeland, Florida; his niece, Cherie (& Stephen) Yost of Lakeland, Florida; his nephew, Tim Perz of Seminole, Florida; three great nephews: Brady, Gavin, and Cole Yost; and a great niece, Carlee Perz.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Frances Launa Liechti; and his grandparents, Frank and Jessie Jamison.

A graveside funeral service with military honors will be held Thursday, December 29, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. in the Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa.
The Oskaloosa American Legion and V.F.W. will perform the graveside military rites.
Visitation with the family present will be Thursday morning from 10:00 until 10:45 at which time a procession will form for those wishing to attend the graveside service.
Memorials may be made to the MHP Hospice Serenity House.
