North Mahaska Coed Dance Takes First

DES MOINES – North Mahaska had a busy day Nov. 30 at the Iowa State Dance Championships, but the toil and sweat was worth it. The Warhawk dance team brought home three Division I ratings and was crowned state champion in the coed division.

Natalie LaRue and Breckyn Schilling each earned a Division I rating for their solo dance entries and the novelty dance routine garnered a Division I as well.

The biggest win of the day, of course, was the state title trophy for the coed routine. Coach Shayla Schilling was proud of the effort and the results.

“We had a great couple days in Des Moines,” said Coach Schilling. “The girls and guys performed their routines well. We came away with Division I ratings across the board and a first place trophy for our coed routine.
