Clay was born on June 10, 1975, and he went to be with his Lord on September 25, 2022, at the age of 47. He was born to Howard and Marjorie (White) Ver Steegh, the youngest of three children.

Clay grew up on a family farm southwest of Oskaloosa, working with his father, brother, uncles and cousins. They also had a construction business for a few years that he, his brother and dad worked on. He worked until disability made it impossible.

Clay attended school in Oskaloosa and graduated from Oskaloosa High School in 1993.

He was baptized in Central Church in Oskaloosa and attended there with his family.

Clay was united in marriage to Amanda Glosser on September 25, 2010, at Hopewell Church. They later divorced. To this union two daughters were born, Isabel Jane and Abigail Kay.

Most of all, his daughters were the light of his life, and he loved them dearly. Clay loved the outdoors, pick-ups, big trucks and four wheeling. He was a member of the Make it or Break (MIOB) four wheeling club for many years and loved watching Monster Jam.

Clay leaves an aunt, Vivian Ver Steegh; an uncle and his wife, Dick (& Shirley) Ver Steegh; an aunt and her husband, Lois (& Andrew) Van Utrecht; an aunt and her husband, Phyllis (& Phil) Van Utrecht; and an aunt, Mary Weber.

Clay was welcomed into Heaven by his father, Howard Ver Steegh; grandparents, Floyd & Jeanette Ver Steegh and Francis & Emma Jane White; and two uncles, Robert Ver Steegh and Steve Weber.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at 10:00 in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa, Iowa, with Reverend Jon Nelson officiating.
Burial will follow services in the Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 28 from 11:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. with no family present, Thursday, September 29, 2022, 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM with family present.
Memorials may be made to Clay’s daughters Isabel and Abigial Ver Steegh.

The family is asking everyone that has special memories of Clay to please write them down and send them for his daughters at Post office Box 207, Oskaloosa, Iowa, so they will have special memories of their daddy. It would mean so much, Thank you!
