Indians Swimmers Compete At Conference Meets
The Oskaloosa Girls Swim has competed in both the North Central and Little Hawkeye Conference meets this past Saturday and Tuesday and saying I’m proud of these girls is an understatement.
On Saturday we made the long drive to Decorah for the North Central Conference meet. As many of you can imagine, it is hard to get ready and pumped up for swimming after an almost 4 hour car ride. With that we walked away not too happy with the times we saw, but with a drive to see a different outcome at the Little Hawkeye Conference meet on Tuesday in Indianola. We spent practice on Monday talking about our races from Saturday and what changes we need to make for Tuesday. The girls did everything they talked about and had an absolutely amazing showing yesterday! We had a ton of lifetime best swims, season best swims, as well as A SCHOOL RECORD BROKEN.
Here are the Highlights for the Little Hawkeye Conference Meet.
Medley Relay team of Bolibaugh, Snakenburg, Moore, and Lindgren placed 5th
Medley Relay team of Cheney, Kanis, Moorman, and Walters placed 9th
200 Free: Emma Whitt placed 8th
200 IM: Grace Moore placed 3rd with a lifetime best swim!
50 Free: Vivian Bolibaugh placed 8th, Callie Lindgren placed 10th, and Emma Adams placed 11th
100 Butterly: Grace Moore placed 7th and Maddy Moorman placed 10th
100 Free: Audree Cheney placed 8th, Kenzie Kanis placed 9th, and Emma Whitt placed 10th
500 Free: Callie Walters placed 7th
200 Free Relay team of Snakenburg, Adams Lindgren, and Moore placed with 6th with lifetime best times from Lindgren and Moore
200 Free Relay team of Whitt, Kanis, Cheney, and Moorman placed 9th
100 Backstroke Vivian Bolibaugh placed 6th, Emma Adams placed 8th with a lifetime best swim, and Audree Cheney placed 9th with a season best time
100 Breastroke CORA SNAKENBURG placed 3rd WITH A SCHOOL RECORD, Kenzie Kanis placed 10th
400 Free Relay team of Adams, Whitt, Lindgren, and Moore placed 7th with a lifetime best swim for Lindgren.
We have one more regular season meet next Monday in Ottumwa before we head back to my home pool at Waukee for Regionals (state qualifying) on November 5th!
