WARRIORS FALL LATE AT IOWA LAKES

Spencer, IA – Indian Hills Women’s Soccer suffered a 3-2 defeat in Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) play on Saturday afternoon. The Warriors fall to 11-6-0 overall and 2-4-0 in league play.

Indian Hills took an initial lead in the 5th minute as Jorja Welch (Queensland, Australia/Palm Beach Currumbin State) slipped a through ball into the box that found the foot of Ikumi Okumura (Edogawa, Japan/Murata). Okumura buried the shot for the early 1-0 lead.

After a score from the Lakers, Indian Hills regained the lead as sophomore Dare Kroeten (St. Louis Park, MN/St. Louis Park) took advantage of an Iowa Lakes turnover and buried a long-range shot from the top of the box to go ahead 2-1 in the 31st minute.

Iowa Lakes eventually went tied the match at two-all in the closing minutes of the first half and eventually found the back of the net in the early portions of the second half while holding Indian Hills scoreless for the 3-2 victory.

The Warriors are back in action for the regular season finale at Illinois Central College at 3:00 PM on October 19 before postseason play gets underway.
