Norwalk Too Much For OMS 8th Grade Volleyball
The 8th-grade volleyball team traveled to Norwalk tonight to take on a tough Warrior squad.
The A team lost 1-2 with scores of 19-21, 21-11, and 14-16. Cylee Smith had two kills, one block, and four aces. Jenna Harbour had four kills and one ace. Celli Pilcher had nine digs and three aces. Cadence Grubb had one kill and four aces. Hannah VanArkel had three digs. Haylee Parker had seven assists and one ace. Ireland had one kill, two blocks, and two aces.
The B team went 0-3 with scores of 12-21, 16-21, and 6-15. Leah Lorentzen had two aces. Kennedi Wright had four assists and three aces. Carly Hammond had two digs and one ace. Kaylee Main had two kills and one ace. Kyleigh Carmer had three kills. Kenna Grubb had four aces. Aleigha Sheets and Emily Medina each had one kill.
The C team went 2-4 with scores of 9-21, 14-21, 16-21, 18-21, 21-4, and 21-3. We saw a lot of improvement as the night went on. Players who came up big were Emma Rowley with 16 (!!) aces and one kill, Katelynn Watts with eight aces and one kill, Hailey Montgomery with eight aces, and Brooklyn Coenen with four aces and two kills. Other top contributors were Rylee Harbour with three aces, Maddy Brown with two aces, Adicen Briggs with one ace and two kills, Destiny Harrison with one ace and one kill, and Destiny Gordon and Zayva Claussen with one kill each.
