Lynn Christine Heriford, age 58, of Albia, IA, passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2022, at her home. Lynn was born on May 15, 1964, at the Monroe County Hospital in Albia to Mickey Thomas and Linda Lee (Christensen) Sinclair.
Lynn grew up attending school in Albia and graduated from the Albia High School with the Class of 1982. Following high school, Lynn attended Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa where she studied accounting.
Lynn was united in marriage to Harold Heriford on March 1, 1990.
Lynn worked in customer service her whole working career as a waitress or cashier. Upon completing high school, she went to work at Hess Drug in Albia before going to work at Pizza Hut in Ottumwa. She became an Assistant Manager for Pizza Hut which took her to Illinois. When she returned to Albia, Lynn worked as a cashier at Mom’s Place/Texaco before taking a job at Applebee’s in Ottumwa. She then returned to work at Pizza Hut and the American Legion in Albia.
Lynn was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Albia where she was very active and involved in youth organizations as a child. In school, Lynn excelled at academics, making the honor roll numerous times, and was also active in band, softball, and volleyball. She was a very caring, kind, and generous person who had a love for animals, especially her cats and dogs. Above all else, Lynn’s family was everything to her and she cherished all of the time spent with them.
Lynn is survived by her son, Kelsey Thomas; her mother, Linda Sinclair; 2 siblings, Cynthia (& Kenny) Kirk and Michael (& Jen) Sinclair; 4 nieces and nephews: Rachell, Ariel, Tyler and Aaron; and 4 great nieces and nephews: Marly, Urigha, Aleah, and Dash.
Lynn was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Heriford; her father, Mickey Sinclair, and her grandparents, Malcolm and Lois Sinclair and Clayton and Eva Christensen.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 24, 2022, at the Tharp Funeral Home in Albia, with Lynn’s family present from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. to greet family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2022, at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Albia, with Pastor Roger Henry officiating.
Burial will follow services at Woodlawn Cemetery in Lovilia.
An open memorial has been established and will be determined at a later date.
