James A. Bennett, 75, passed away April 6, 2022, while at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. He was born in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, April 23, 1946, to Harlan and Eva (Graves) Bennett.

October 18, 1967, James married Helen (Robertson) Bennett. They made their live together until her passing in 2012.

James served honorably in the United States Army and was a Viet Nam veteran.

James was retired from Pella Corporation Company after more than thirty years.

Prior to his retirement, James enjoyed camping and fishing with family and friends. After retirement, he was happiest when he was spending time with his five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. James dearly loved his dog, Daisy and cat, Sammy.

Those who now mourn James’ passing include: his daughter, Dorie Fitzgerald (& Mark Steele) of Washington, Indiana; grandchildren: Tisha (& Eric) Dillman, Kimmy (& Brandon) St. Onge, Jamerson Hols, Jacob (& Danielle) Hols, and Kaeleigh Fitzgerald; and great-grandchildren: Jackson St. Onge, Bruse Hols, and Isabelle St. Onge. James also leaves a brother, Wayne (Ruth) Bennett in Oswego, Illinois.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Harlan and Eva Bennett; his wife, Helen Bennett; his sons, Bruce Bennett and James Bennett; brother, Stanley Bennett, and sister, Coral Bennett.

Fremont Funeral Chapel is handling the Graveside services at 11:00 AM, Monday, April 11, 2022, with Military Graveside Rites in Cedar Township Cemetery in Fremont, Iowa.
