Central’s Van Gorp receives conference honor
PELLA—Central College sophomore Joshua Van Gorp (Pella, Pella Christian HS) received honorable mention for the American Rivers all-conference men’s basketball squad.
Van Gorp, a 6-foot-10 center, led the league in blocked shots with 1.3 per game and was second in field goal percentage at 70.5%. He averaged a team-best 12.2 points and 6.0 rebounds in starting all 24 games. He posted three statistical double-doubles.
Central posted a 7-17 record and a 4-12 conference mark.
