OMS 8th Grade Boys Start Strong At Pella

by Travis Wahlert

Last night the 8th grade boys traveled to Pella. In the A game Osky came out very strong on the offense. We let Pella stick around by not rebounding and not getting back on defense. The second quarter was much different on defense. We were still hitting shots but we were attacking the boards on defense and playing much better transition defense. We led at half 28-23.

The second half with multiple guys in foul trouble which led to not being as aggressive on offense or defense. It was tied at 41 apiece with 30 seconds left and we had the last shot. With 6 seconds left we had a crucial turnover and it went into overtime. Pella got easy layup and a second chance 3 to go up 5. We continued to lack on defense and Pella won 56-45.

Max Roach- 25 points
Trey Parks- 8 points
Kayne Boender- 8 points
Linus Morrison- 4 points

In the B game the boys really couldn’t get anything going on offense or defense. A lack of defense and many turnovers caused the score to be very lopsided. We lost 45-9

Mason Muir 3pts.
Blake Herny 3pts.
Heavon Knox 3pts.

The C game had the same outcome, not much scoring and not much for rebounds. We lost the game 26-10

Liam Dykstra 4pts.

We travel to Newton on Monday and finish the season at home Thursday at home against Grinnell.
