NJCAA National Rankings Include Week 12 Men’s and Women’s Basketball
Charlotte, NC – The NJCAA National Office released the twelfth week of rankings for all three divisions of men’s and women’s basketball. See which teams stayed, improved, and fell on the latest lists.
Below is a summary of the rankings from Monday’s announcement:
DI Women’s Basketball | Three Rivers (MO) added two more wins to its record, improving to 22-0 and taking No. 1 again in the NJCAA DI Women’s Basketball poll. Georgia Highlands stole the No. 3 spot, improving one, and Western Nebraska improved two spots to No. 4. Tyler (TX), New Mexico, and Chipola (FL) all entered the top-10.
DI Men’s Basketball | The top-five of the NJCAA DI Men’s Basketball poll stayed the same this week, with Salt Lake (UT) on top. Dodge City (KS) and Indian Hills (IA) both used prominent wins to improve to No. 6 and No. 7, respectively. Odessa (TX) improved its win streak to an impressive 12 games, claiming No. 9. Otero (CO) claimed the No. 25 spot.
DII Women’s Basketball | Kirkwood (IA) took over the No.1 spot in the latest NJCAA DII Women’s Basketball poll, knocking Johnson County (KS) to No. 2. CCBC Essex (MD) improved two spots to No. 3 and Lincoln Land (IL) made its way back into the top-five after a win over No. 6 Illinois Central. Niagara County (NY) cracked the top-20 for the first time this season.
DII Men’s Basketball | The NJCAA DII Men’s Basketball poll had some major changes this week, including changes from spots No. 2-5. 19-0 South Suburban (IL) remained on top, followed by new No. 2 Lakeland (OH), No. 3 Davidson-Davie (NC), No. 4 Sullivan County (NY), and No. 5 Chesapeake (MD). Pima (AZ) clocked in at No. 20.
DIII Women’s Basketball | The latest NJCAA DIII Women’s Basketball poll kept Owens (OH) on top, followed by Northland (MN) and RCSJ-Gloucester (NJ). Onondaga (NY) continued its 16-game win streak to earn No. 4 and North Country’s four wins on the week notch them to No. 12.
DIII Men’s Basketball | Dallas-North Lake (TX) captured the No. 1 spot of the NJCAA DIII Men’s Basketball poll, keeping the top-five the same on the week. Rainy River (MN) entered the poll at No. 15, Montgomery County (PA) moved up a spot to No. 6, and Genesee (NY) improved two to No. 11.
The next NJCAA Rankings will be released on Monday, February 14, with the thirteenth week of polls for all three divisions of men’s and women’s basketball. Regular season polls for DI, DII, and DIII baseball, as well as DI and DII softball will take place Monday, February 28. DIII softball regular season polls will return on Monday, April 4.
