Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother and Uncle, William “Bill” Lee McGlothlen, 64, of Eddyville, Iowa, passed away, February 4, 2022 at the Ottumwa Regional Hospital. William “Bill” Lee McGlothlen, son of Donald Lee McGlothlen and Mary Joan Smith was born December 16, 1957 in Oskaloosa, Iowa.
Bill lived with and was raised by his Grandparents Orval “Bill” and Juanita Scott Smith.
Bill excelled in sports and was a talented athlete during his time at EHS and was a graduate of the Class of 1976.
His work adventures after his school years, were working in the coal mine, and later being an Iron worker. He traveled many places while being an Iron Worker and made many friends. During one of these jobs, he was hurt by the negligence of a company and was forced to retire from the job he loved.
He lived most of his life in the town of Eddyville Iowa. He loved to ride his motorcycle, tinkering in the yard, growing a garden and singing Karaoke. Most of all he loved all his children and grandchildren.
Bill was a loving and caring person and always made time to talk to his daughter Lyndsy. He will always be in the hearts of those who loved him.
Survivors include his wife, Tina Minor McGlothlen; his children: Lyndsy Fadl McGlothlen (& Drew Jackson) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Lacey McGlothlen, Lexis McGlothlen, Myra Foster; step-daughter, Danielle; his grandchildren, Kiana Boots and Kindsy Fadl both of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; A great Grandson due in April; Siblings, Bob McGlothlen and Mike McGlothlen Bingham; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was proceeded in death by his parents; Donald Lee McGlothlen and Mary Joan Smith Bingham; infant sister, Susan Kay (1956); and his beloved Grandparents: Orval “Bill” and Juanita Scott Smith and Roy and Maxine Howar McGlothlen.
A visitation/celebration of life will be on Saturday, February 12 from 1-5 PM at the Eddyville Funeral Home.
A private family Burial will be at the Liberty Cemetery, Bussy Iowa at a later time.
