Wilbur Van Ryswyk, 70 of Taintor passed away Monday evening, October 25, 2021 at the Mahaska Health Partnership Hospice Serenity House in Oskaloosa. Wilbur Van Ryswyk, the son of Willard and Doris (Ackerly) Van Ryswyk, was born on February 25, 1951 in Knoxville, Iowa.

Wilbur graduated from Pleasantville High School in 1969.

On September 9, 1972, Wilbur was united in marriage to Dixie Saville in Knoxville. To this union three sons were born, Scott, Sidney and Shawn. They later divorced.

Wilbur worked for the Allis Chambers Dealership in Knoxville as a mechanic and held a few other jobs before starting his career with the Vermeer Corporation in Pella, where he was a territory manager in sales receiving the top salesman award several times.

Wilbur enjoyed riding his motorcycles and spending time with his friends.

His memory will be honored by his children: Sidney Van Ryswyk of Searsboro and Shawn (Amber) Van Ryswyk of New Sharon; his grandchildren: Anna, Kasen, Kenadi, Cade and Cole; his father, Willard Van Ryswyk of Pleasantville; his sister, Angie Hall of Knoxville; and many other relatives and friends.

Wilbur was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Van Ryswyk; a son, Scott Van Ryswyk; and a brother-in-law, Ronald Hall.

Funeral services will begin at 11:00 am Friday, October 29, 2021 at the Taintor Community Church.
Visitation/Reception will be held after the service at the church.
Burial will be held in the Stewart Cemetery near Taintor.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Taintor Community Church. Holland-Coble Funeral Home of New Sharon is in charge of arrangements.
