Osky XC At Fairfield

The Osky XC teams were in action tonight on a beautiful night for the Fairfield Invite. The boys finished 4th out of 13 teams while the girls were 7th.

“We had a lot of improvements tonight both in terms of tactics and times. We pack ran a lot better today – Reed Peterson, Aden Scott, and Phillip Abrahamson did a great job feeding off of each other and pushing each other to a great race. On the girls side we had a couple of good pack of two’s – Addi Carter/Olivia Stodghill and Evie Adam/Faith Coniglio- that helped our varsity team out. We also had a lot of great individual improvements – a number of runners ran 20-60 seconds faster then they had this year thus far. The biggest improvers were Anna Coniglio, Evie Adam, Carly Malloy, Reed Peterson, and Keygan Roberts. One thing we need to focus on going forward is better finishes in the last 600. We left some points out on the course. With that said I feel like we are further ahead at this point then we were last year. Today was another nice step forward for us.”

Patrick De Ronde led the boys with a 2nd place finish in a time of 16:46. “Patrick lost to the 5th ranked runner in 3A but was able to fight hard with him for over two miles. He ran well.”

Sage Adam led the girls with an 11th place finish in a time of 22:03. “She had a good race. She is so close to a huge breakthrough. She has a big time coming when she puts everything together.”

Our next meet is Tuesday September 14th at Edmundson Park for the Oskaloosa Invite. MS starts at 4:15. HS at 5:00.
